Singing For Toys will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023.  Join us at the Calhoun Walmart at 450 Belmont Dr, Calhoun, GA 30701.

       9:00 AM     Belwood Elementary School

       9:30 AM     Calhoun 6th Grade Chorus

     10:00 AM     Fairmount Elementary School

     10:30 AM     Sonoraville Elementary School

     11:00 AM     Calhoun Primary School 2nd and 3rd Grade 

     11:30 AM     Calhoun Elementary School 4th and 5th Grade

 

This annual event is a partnership between United Way of Gordon County, AdventHealth (EMS), Walmart, and students from the Calhoun City and Gordon County Schools chorus departments.  Toys and funds collected support the Voluntary Action Center (VAC) and Walmart's Annual Christmas Programs.   Singing for Toys was established in 1997 with the Calhoun Walmart, and brings together the community in the spirit of Christmas.  As the second generation of singers brings festivities to Walmart, many of their parents are reminded of their time singing for toys.  Our own Director, Stacy Long, and her daughter Emma, both participated in Singing for Toys.  

 

Courtney Taylor, Emergency Management Director, is again hosting the 100-100-100 Campaign. Courtney started this fundraising campaign several years ago to assist the VAC with funds for children who might not be adopted for Christmas. He asked "100 businesses and/or individuals to donate $100 to provide Christmas for 100 Kids! This simple idea has met the goal each year and helped hundreds of less fortunate children in our community.
