Unity Run XXIX

The Unity Run 5K is going back to the 1980s with our 29th annual 5K coming up on Tuesday, September 27, 2022!

Why the 1980s?
We are celebrating 35 years of United Way serving the Gordon County area. Since we were founded in 1987, the Unity Run 5K will have a theme: the 1980's to celebrate our 35th year! So grab those tube socks, rock those sweat headbands, clip-on those fanny packs, dust off your old cassette walkmans, embrace the side pony, and join us in all your 80s glory!

We will have prizes for the best-dressed individual as well as the most spirited team/company, so start planning today!

Register For the Race.
Registration will open on July 5th and this year we will have more swag than ever. This year, we are opening up more registration levels where you can not only get a t-shirt but much more. . . stay tuned.

There will also be a new race route which will be announced upon its approval in July. We are currently working with the Calhoun Police Department to map out a safer route!

Kids' Fun Run and Feel Whole Stroll
Furthermore, we are bringing back the Kids' Fun Run sponsored by All God's Children Pediatrics, which will be at the Calhoun High School track, and also our Premier Race Sponsor, AdventHealth Gordon, will be doing their Feel Whole Stroll in conjunction with the race at the CHS track as well before the 5K begins. The start times for the Kids' Run and Feel Whole Stroll will be announced soon.

UNITY RUN 5K

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Unity Run 5K! We could not have done it without all of our amazing sponsors (see below), volunteers, runners, walkers, and so many others, not to mention those who came out to enjoy the event and cheer on the participants! Our goal for 2022 is to raise $750,000, and thanks to such a great turnout and so many amazing sponsors, we are right on track to meet and exceed our goal. If you are wanting to give to United Way as an individual or partner with us to set up a workplace campaign at your business or organization, please reach out to Chris Hayes at chayes@gordoncountyunitedway.org for more information or click on the "Donate" tab above.

We had a total of 107 runners and raised over $14,035 for our 2021 United Way Campaign. We would also like to thank Engineered Floors for designing this year's logo!

Instead of submitting race times this year, we awarded winners based on the following categories: Farthest Participant from Gordon County, Most Unique Race Route, Most Creative Outfit, and Most Spirited! Congratulations to our 2020 Unity Run 5K winners!
