United Way's Response to COVID-19

At United Way of Gordon County, the health and safety of our community is a top priority. Like many, we are closely monitoring developments related to COVID-19 and will be following guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Georgia Department of Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, AdventHealth Gordon, and local city and county health departments.
Here are some of the actions United Way is taking to help keep our community healthy. We are working with our community partners, schools, and health professionals to provide and share reliable and available resources in the Calhoun-Gordon County community. We are also sharing free and available resources for food.

Office Closure

To help limit the spread of COVID-19 and support efforts to promote social distancing, the United Way office will be closed to the public effective March 16, 2020 until further notice. As a social service agency, we do not take our role lightly, which is why our staff will continue to work remotely to ensure that our partner agencies and community get the support they need during this critical time. The United Way staff will be working remotely and will continue to be available by email, phone, or virtually.

Our partners, schools, local businesses, churches, and healthcare providers are working around the clock to ensure every person in our community has food and resources to get through these unprecedented times. We hope this online resource will help provide assistance and share the growing needs in our community. We are working to keep our website up-to-date as regularly as possible with resources and opportunities to help and help others. If you know of a service being provided in our community, send us a message and we will add it to our site!
