Marketing and Engagement Manager

Scope of Position:

  • Position:  Marketing and Engagement Manager

  • Position Status:  Part-time (15-30 hours)

  • Pay Range:  $15.00 to $20.00

  • Preferred Experience: 3 to 5 years marketing and fundraising experience

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Marketing and Engagement Manager is tasked with cultivating and maintaining community partner relationships for organizational growth.  The Marketing and Engagement Manager is expected to work in tandem with the Executive Director to assist with fundraising, social media, organizational marketing, donor engagement, resource development, and overall organizational support. 

Overall Responsibilities •Working with the Executive Director to plan and coordinate the annual marketing and fundraising activities of the organization in compliance with the organization’s annual and strategic plans. •Assist the Executive Director with cultivating and establishing new donor relationships to support fundraising activities and annual giving campaigns. •Create a compelling marketing campaign that highlights the work of the organization through the use of social media, networking, print, and other means to advance the cause of United Way’s strategic plans. •Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing donors to expand giving that provides continued collaboration and support of the mission and strategic plan of the organization. •Maintain the relationships of existing donors and partners to ensure continued collaboration and support of existing programs and partner agencies. •Strive to ensure the mission and vision of the organization are met through the development of solid organizational knowledge to satisfy the strategic and succession plans of the organization. •Creating opportunities to share and further the mission of the organization that works within the strategic plan and funding focus areas. •Assist the Executive Director with all organizational activities, including campaigns, fundraising, events, allocations, and other organizational support. •Serve as a backup for the Executive Director in terms of financial and organizational management which will encompass no more than 20% of the total time commitment for this position. This allows for proper contingency and succession planning for the organization. Skills and Abilities •Communications and Marketing: Ability to develop and execute quality communications that create focus on the mission and strategic plan of the organization. •Social Media Marketing: Ability to create impactful content for social media that not only promotes the mission and vision of United Way but also helps advocate for the needs of the community and spotlights the work of Partner Agencies. •Creative Thinking: Ability to generate creative concepts, collateral, and engaging messaging that aligns with a brand strategy, such as advertising, annual reports, campaign materials, digital/social campaigns, newsletters, event promotion, media releases, and presentations. •Website Management: Knowledge and experience with website management that includes search engine optimization (SEO), website marketing, and website integration. •Engagement: Experience in managing and promoting mission and vision through campaigns designed to increase contributions and volunteer support. •Results Driven: Experience monitoring and analyzing market trends to identify opportunities for cultivating meaningful relationships and brand loyalty among existing and potential partners. •Fundraising: Experience in the execution and planning of fundraising events as well as sponsorship and donation solicitation. •Relationship Oriented: Display a high degree of proven personal integrity and character with a high-energy level in driving self and others toward goals and achieving results and in the coordination of tasks. Qualifications •Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or at least five years’ experience in marketing and donor relations. •Experience and knowledge of various marketing strategies, including content marketing, social media marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), email and newsletter, advertising, affiliate marketing, brand management, and website marketing. •Experience in fundraising, relationship management, and networking. •Experience in public relations strategies for brand management. •Must live within Gordon County Community.
