Singing For Toys

Gordon EMS Let's Make a Kid Smile Toy Drive

This event happens every December, please check back to see the date for 2018!

United Way of Gordon County, the Voluntary Action Center (VAC), Gordon Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Walmart, and students from the Calhoun City Schools and Gordon County Schools chorus departments have partnered together to sing at Walmart. For many years the choruses sing for toys.  This Christmas tradition continues and works well for Gordon County. Families and friends join the fun of listening to children sing Christmas music. As a second generation of performers shares their songs, many of their parents are reminded of the times they too sang for toys. The EMS volunteers will be outside Walmart collecting toys or contribution for the VAC’s Christmas toy program.

Again, this year Courtney Taylor in his new position, Emergency Management Director, is beginning is 100-100-100 Campaign. Courtney started this fund-raising campaign several years ago to assist the VAC with funds for children who might not be adopted for Christmas. He asked, “100 businesses and/or individuals to donate $100.00 to provide Christmas for 100 Kids! This is a simple idea that has met the goal each year and helped hundreds of less fortunate children in our community. Mark Bramlett with Gordon Emergency Medical Services will be helping this year.” To be added to the list of 100 donors contact Mark Bramlett at 706-602-7800 Ext. 2357 or email mark.bramlett@ahss.org.

Please come and join in a true Christmas tradition in Calhoun with these very talented chorus groups.
