Food Trucks & Friends is BACK!

Food Trucks & Friends is BACK!

The popular downtown event, Food Trucks & Friends is back again in 2019! The upcoming April date marks the 5th food truck gathering since August of 2017. The United Way of Gordon County Young Leaders Society (YLS Gordon County) and the Downtown Development Authority (Downtown Calhoun) are partnering again to host another fun event on

Friday, April 12, 2019, from 5:30-9:30 p.m. at the Historic Calhoun Depot (109 S. King Street in Downtown Calhoun)

Similar to the past food truck events, changes have been made to better serve the attendees, more food trucks are on the agenda, as well as a large white canopy tent for shade, fans under the tent, and more tables and chairs. A small portion of King Street will be closed to accommodate the food trucks and allow more space on the parking lot surface for the canopy tent and tables/chairs. Guests are also encouraged to bring a lawn chair if they so choose. Event admission is free and open to the public, dinner, and drinks can be purchased through the vendors.

The following trucks will be participating:

AMAIZEing Eats, Cousins Maine Lobster, Dominic's NY Pizza, Eazy Eats, Five Finger Philly, Julian's Kitchens, Not As Famous Cookie Company, Tom + Chee, Country Cabin Lemonade Stand, Wall St. Catering Co. (serving beer & wine to those of age)

The hosts would like to remind patrons that the food trucks will have a special menu for this event, everything shown on their social media pages and/or website may not be served.

Entertainment: An old favorite, Ben Honeycutt returns to the event playing live music throughout the evening! Check him out on Facebook and Instagram (www.facebook.com/benhoneycuttmusic/) Instagram (www.instagram.com/_benhoneycutt/).

General Information you may not know about Food Trucks & Friends:

This is a unique event unlike anything else in Calhoun/Gordon County. Food trucks are selected in advance and asked to attend, no booth setup is available. Please keep in mind that there will be lines because the food is being prepared for you onsite! The prices may also be different from what you may be used to paying. Food truck pricing is usually slightly more expensive than fair or festival food because of the quality of the food. Your patience and understanding while you are at the event are appreciated. Restrooms and air-conditioned seating are located inside the Calhoun Depot.

Downtown Calhoun is the place to be Friday, April 12th! Information can be found in the Facebook event “Food Trucks & Friends” and you can invite your Facebook friends to attend as well! Questions about the event can be directed to Ashley Goble at agoble@gordoncountyunitedway.org or Suzanne Roberts at sroberts@calnet-ga.net.
