Mohawk Presents... 

In a perfect blend of grace and timing, United Way of Gordon County and Friends of the GEM Theatre will combine fundraising efforts and split the profits as they co-produce Calhoun's Dancing with the Stars on Saturday, March 17, 2012. Scheduled on Saint Patrick's Day and taking place in the historic GEM Theatre. All indications are that the event will leave some fearless souls setting fundraising records in Gordon County as they boogie for bucks.

Sixteen of Calhoun's most accomplished professionals will find themselves dancing to the beat of a different drum as they prepare for the competition, which pits eight teams against one another for hometown bragging rights, a People's Choice Mirror Ball Award and the coveted Judges' Mirror Ball Award. With the dance cards full, the current lineup includes representatives from industry, insurance, education and arts right here in Gordon County.

Dancing with the Stars' roster shows Stella Bailey paired with Jimmy Phillips, Crissy Davis teamed with David Moyer, Hanna Dean matched with Chip Sloan and Elsa Gonzalez lined up with Barton Mathews. Helen Jones will dance with Scott Fletcher, Debbie Mixon will join Dr. Bill McCown and LaRae Pennel will partner with Andy Baxter. Dr. Michele Taylor and Jim Lay will round out the field.

Tickets for Mohawk Presents Calhoun's Dancing with the Stars will go on sale at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 03, 2012 from the GEM Theatre Box Office or at their online site . We anticipate a full house, so purchase your ticket today.

The dance performances will be scored by a panel of three judges. Tickets are $65 and $40, with the higher price including a Pre-Event Reception. Curtain rises at 7:30pm.  There will be no reserved seating tickets.

 Ticket Update:  1.30.12

Due to the tremendous response we are selling general admission tickets for the dress rehearsal Friday, March 16 at 7:00 for $20.00 per ticket.  There are no reserve seats.  Keep in mind this is a dress rehearsal with no judges.  THe audience will be given the same opportunity to vote on their favorite dance couple at the dress rehearsal.  If people want to see who actually wins on Sat. night and be a part of the live voting process that will ultimately determine the winner, we will have a live video remote with100 spillover tickets at Velo Vineyard for $20.00.  

We have made arrangements to have spillover tickets available for $20.00 for a live remote broadcast at Velo Vineyard beginning at 7:00 after the Pre-event Reception.  These same people may also purchase a ticket to the pre-event reception for $25.00 which will begin at 6:00.

Tickets are still available for the dress rehearsal on Friday, March 16 and the Velo Vineyard Spillover on Saturday Night, March 17.   

Program Ads are available until February 17, for anyone interested in purchasing an ad for the Mohawk Presents Calhoun's Dancing with the Stars.  An estimated 1000 people will view the event during the two nights of  performances.  Contact your favorite dancing couple or United Way to purchase an ad ranging in price from $50.00-$200.00. Ads sold by dancers go toward their People's Choice Award accounts.  The dance couple raising the most money wins the People's Choice Award.

Tickets say the performance begins at 7:00 but it actually will begin at 7:30.  Doors open at the GEM at 6:45.

ANYONE CAN VOTE YOU DO NOT HAVE TO ATTEND THE EVENT TO VOTE!!!

If you cannot attend any of the performances and you would like to vote, please do.  Voting is open to everyone.  Votes are in $5.00 increments.  Voting amounts can be increased by increasing the number of items you order in your shopping cart.    1 item =$5.00  2 items= $10.00 contribution and so on.
